     In recent news, we were featured on the cover of BHLM (Buffalo Healthy Living Magazine June 2022). Sans the pun, this opportunity wasn’t without issue. Not on part or fault of the magazine. Never conceiving of a mass shooting to leave a grotesque scar on Buffalo’s history, leaving the East side of town in perpetual mourning – weeks before the tragedy we already accepted the offer to grace the magazine’s cover. With pleasant expectation of working with BHLM prior to the tragedy, we had to have deep conversation with one other as to whether we should proceed. Would the feature make a difference for our Black community? What would it fix or address? Was the timing right?
